Been too long

I am so sorry it has been so long since I have blogged! We have been on vacation for over a week and a half and been very busy. Ｗe spent one week in Asheville, NC with my (Erin's) family and then drove straight to Gaitlinburg, TN for a couple of days with Ben's family. We had tons of fun! Eli had a great time and traveled really well.
Highlights of the trip include:
-Eli meeting Ella and Theo for the first time!
- Eli climbing his first mountain
- Eating traditional BBQ in NC
- Old Time Photo in Gaitlinburg

Unfortunately for me these are my last days of maternity leave. I am so sad to be leaving my little boy but I know going back to work is the best thing in the long run. I hope to be able to keep up the blog once my life gets even crazier with work, so keep checking.

Happy 4th

This weekend we had a great time celebrating the 4th of July with our friends Chris and Pearl. This was the first meeting for Eli and their baby Peyton (a golden retreiver!) We were very excited for Peyton and Eli to meet especially because their names were bound to make them as close as brothers:) We hope everyone had a wonderful holiday weekend!

Four mile feat!

This past weekend I finished my first race post-baby. Yeah! It was only a four mile race but it felt like so much longer! I can remember when four miles was nothing for me. Clearly those days are over! I am very sore today but very happy that I finished. I can't believe I haven't run that far in over a year and a half! I actually ran the entire race with my dad and brother. We ran about 9.5 minute miles but finished strong. My dad was so happy that he finished the entire race on his 67th birthday! I can only hope I can do that when I am 67. Congrats Dad!
Ben on the other hand was a show-off and ran 6.5 minute miles. Yeah I used to be able to beat him in races. I guess those days are over too.

Uncle David and Uncle Mark come to visit!

We are having so much fun this weekend with Uncle Mark and Uncle David. They came in for Dad's birthday and to visit Eli. This was Mark's first time meeting Little E and they had a blast together. We really miss living in Chicago with them but we love that they can drive to see us in Cincy.

Sometimes life sucks

So there was a horrible storm last night in Cincinnati. Trees down everywhere and tornado like activity. I was in the basement with Eli from 2am to 7am when we lost power. So I am going on about 3.5 hours of sleep right now. Thank g-d my parents live in Cincy so I am at their house right now. It sucks having an infant and not being at home. AND carting around coolers of frozen breast milk from house to house! UGH! I should be sleeping right now, since my son is, but I am choosing to blog instead. I know I am an idiot.

I finally did this!

Hi all- I always said we wouldn't do this but we have succumb to the world of the bloggers. It really is a great way to keep in touch with our family and friends all over the place and keep you all updated on our little man. Here is an updated pic of him.
We are really enjoying his smiles and laughs.
